Prylada now supports MCP, connecting AI agents to device data

To enable secure and structured communication between AI agents and external systems, Prylada has introduced support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard. The newly launched Prylada MCP Server allows any AI agent utilizing an MCP-compliant client to securely query telemetry and device information across the customer's Prylada infrastructure, including metrics such as firmware versions, battery levels, device status, configuration parameters, and historical logs. Instead of broadly exposing infrastructure data to generic AI utilities, MCP offers organizations a uniform and controlled mechanism to link their tailored AI assistants directly with their Prylada deployment once established.

MCP support expands upon the established features of the Prylada Admin Panel by making its data layer accessible to AI agents. Within the Admin Panel, technicians already utilize a centralized interface to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot gateways, transmitters, and beacons, managing key aspects like device topology, analog input settings, power modes, and firmware across the IoT deployment. By integrating MCP, the very same information displayed on screen, including device profiles, network parameters, and sensor identifiers, is transformed into actionable data that a connected AI system can read and analyze.

As a forward-looking initiative, Prylada is currently developing a native AI chat integrated directly into the Admin Panel. This feature will allow users to query their infrastructure using natural language, covering device status, anomalies, and historical trends without the need to leave the interface or establish external integrations. While this project remains in its early stages and additional updates will follow as development progresses, MCP support is already fully available. Organizations interested in connecting their current AI tools to their Prylada setup can contact the team to get started.
